Troubleshooting Apps
A list of common questions about TelemetryTV apps
Webapps not Web screenshots
Is is possible to stream an in-house application without having to display the whole window desktop, can we easily add custom software?
Using our Webapps portion on the TelemetryTV platform, you're able to use your own HTML, JavaScript, and CSS code for integration with our software.
If your app is able to pass data to other application then you have the capability of using Metrics
Website Capture as Image doesn't Create a Snapshot
The TelemetryTV Web Screenshots feature allows users to capture web content and display it as a page on their playlist.
This feature is particularly useful for automating login processes to access secure, real-time web content and customizing the size of the capture window for live websites.
For more information on how to use web screenshots, please refer to the web screenshots .
SharePoint Links
Can I add a link from SharePoint as a weblink to display an Excel sheet?
At the moment, TelemetryTV does not have an integration with SharePoint. If the SharePoint URL is publicly available, you can use the Website app. Alternatively, the Web Screenshots may also be a good choice.
How to Display Time on Your TV
How can I display the time on my TV using TelemetryTV and avoid ads when showing a website?
To display the time on your TV using TelemetryTV, you can use the Clock App. For more information, check the documentation: Clock App Documentation. TelemetryTV does not control any of the content in a URL, rather it simply displays the URL like any other device. To avoid ads, choose a website that does not natively have ads on their platform. Alternatively, you can use the Clock App or the Countdown App as they do not contain ads.

Facial Recognition/Vision Technology
Do you have computer vision technology to show custom content to our customers?
Sorry currently Telemetry TV does not offer facial recognition for customers.
Setting Lobby and Wayfinding Signage for Multiple Sites
What is an effective solution for routinely and remotely setting lobby and wayfinding signage for a multisite organization?
TelemetryTV can provide an effective solution for managing lobby and wayfinding signage across multiple locations.
With TelemetryTV, you can easily create, schedule, and manage content for your digital signage across all your locations from a single platform. This allows you to keep your signage up-to-date and consistent across your organization.
Managing On/Off Devices
You can manage automatic on/off of devices using the Active Hours feature. This feature ensures that content will only play for a specified time and can be configured in the device settings.
Please note that this does not turn off the device, as it would also turn off the network connection that our software needs to "communicate" with the device.
Scrolling or Resizing the Window Not Working
What should I do if I cannot see all of the options and cannot scroll right, and resizing the window doesn't work?
First, try re-sizing the window by dragging the bottom right corner of the window.
If resizing the window doesn't work, we recommend using the Desktop application as it will likely size better and provide a better experience for long term use.

Setup TelemetryTV and How to Integrate Content
What are the requirements and options for setting up TelemetryTV and integrating content?
To set up TelemetryTV, you will need a device to run our app. We work on various operating systems including TelemetryOS, Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and Chrome. You can check our hardware page for a list of tested devices.
If you want to use your own hardware, please provide the operating system and specs, including Memory and Storage Capacity.
For network options, although we recommend hardwired, WiFi is also an option. For non-live content, most videos, images, and turnkey content can be cached on the device to increase playback reliability.
For streaming content, the playback reliability will likely depend on the connection strength. You can log in to TelemetryTV anywhere in the world using our browser or desktop app. As long as the network's firewall you are connected to is not blocking traffic to our site, you can access TelemetryTV anywhere in the world.
Regarding content integration, for Canva, we have a full integration, meaning you can edit directly in our user interface after signing into your account.
With PowerPoint and other Microsoft services, we accept conventional file types for upload, or you can use a public URL to display them via our website app.
Displaying a list of Players from a Database
Is it possible to display a list of players taken from a database written in SQL to display on TelemetryTV?
For dashboards and other forms of data, the best option is the Metrics feature. Elite plan only.

How to Display Emergency Messages to All Screens
How to display emergency messages on all screens and stream live events like sports through TelemetryTV?
To display emergency messages on all screens, TelemetryTV's digital signage software allows for emergency alerts via the Overrides feature and notifications to be broadcast across all screens.
The system includes an emergency override feature that enables the activation of pre-made emergency content instantly.
This emergency content can be set to appear automatically using digital signage overrides and can be activated in seconds. Additionally, screen overrides can be used to broadcast emergency information across all signage with the touch of a button.
For streaming live events like sports, TelemetryTV's live video app is able to live stream via URLs in most conventional formats including: UDP, RTP, RTSP, MMSH, HTTP, and HTTPS. However, this app is only compatible with the TelemetryOS platform.
For more information on support per operating system, please see the documentation.

Connecting and Validating RSS Feeds
How can I connect an RSS feed to show upcoming events and ensure the URL is correct?
You can connect the RSS feed to show upcoming events.
If the RSS feed is message only (no images) it should side-scroll horizontally at the bottom of the screen.
The URL for the RSS feed should be in a conventional RSS format. You can use a validator to double check the feed.
If you are looking to use this tickertape feature for calendar events, you can use ICS format URLs with our calendar app.
Live Stream with TelemetryTV
What's the best way to use a live stream with TelemetryOS?
You can use the Live Video App to display the URL.
The Live Video app supports the following stream types: UDP, RTP, RTSP, MMSH, HTTP, and HTTPS.
It can be configured similar to the YouTube app by going to the app library and selecting the Live Video App option.
Adding a Message to a Slide
You can add messages to slides using the Notice Events, Canva apps, other turnkey apps/ features, or a tickertape/message Overlay.
You should not use Powerpoint to add a message to a slide. Some apps to use are:
Zoom in on WindyTV
It is not possible to zoom in when using the WindyTV app.
Windy does not have an option to zoom, except for using a mouse on the endpoint screen.
Adding Multiple iCal Feeds to the Event App
You can add multiple iCal feeds in the events app. To do this, make sure you're following the correct steps as outlined in the Events App.
Two Apps on Same Page
Is it possible to add a notice and You tube on the same page? Or to add multiple content to one page?
Our Zones feature allows you to add multiple pieces of content to the same page.
Displaying Time Zone in the Weather App
How is the time zone displayed in the Weather App on TelemetryTV set?
Any time based information (overlays, clock, scheduling) is dependent on the system time of the device (For TOS: time zone setting)
Navigation App (Button App, or Bottom App)
The Navigation app is where the button app and the bottom app are located.
Google Slides Updates
Does the Google Slides app update content, and will it refresh if the slides content is changed? Does the app work with a Fire Stick?
If you make changes to the slides content, it should refresh within the app in real time. However, as this is a Google functionality, we recommend confirming with them. For more information, you can refer to the Google Slides App documentation.
Where is the Metrics App?
The Metrics app is only available on the Elite Plan:
Website App Auto Scroll
Is there a way to make websites auto scroll when using the website app?
No, you cannot use auto scrolling in the Website App.
Web Screenshot Actions operate as an extension of the TelemetryTV Desktop App, and automatically scroll down or up on a webpage.
When you interact with the Web Screenshots window, actions like scrolling are actively tracked and replicated on all other devices displaying the content.
How can I install the TelemetryTV desktop app?
The Desktop application is available through the app installer. The installer is included in the Desktop Application topic.
Facebook or Instagram Apps
Due to recent updates by Meta, TelemetryTV no longer offers the Facebook or Instagram Apps, nor the RSS App workaround.
These updates prevent displaying original content from Facebook or Instagram on other platforms without a login, which these apps cannot bypass.
This change reflects new limitations set by Meta for third-party developers.
Apple TV App
We do not support Apple TV at this time.
Google Drive App
No we no longer support or use Google Drive with media.
Editing Folders on Media Tab
How do I edit, re-name or move folders on my media tab?
Some accounts only allow account administrators permissions to re-name, delete and move Media folders.
We recommend checking your account permissions and reaching out to an admin of your account to process your desired changes.
