Schedule regular restarts for your devices

Maintaining the optimal performance of your devices is crucial for a seamless digital signage experience. To address concerns related to hardware or operating system issues that may lead to performance degradation over time, we offer the Scheduled Restarts feature. This feature allows you to schedule a specific daily window of time for device restarts, providing a proactive approach to device maintenance. Set a scheduled restart by following the steps below:

Select a Device: Navigate to the devices page and choose the device for which you wish to configure scheduled restarts. Click on the device's name or identifier to access its detailed settings.

Access Device Settings: Within the device details on the right hand side, locate the "Settings" tab. Here, you'll find various configuration options for the selected device.

Configure Scheduled Restarts: Scroll down the settings page until you find the "Restart" option and toggle the "Schedule" feature to enable it.

Choose Time Window: After enabling Scheduled Restarts, you'll have the option to specify a window of time during which the device will automatically restart. This allows you to select a period when the device's performance is least likely to impact your signage operations.

When to Use Scheduled Restarts

While TelemetryTV is designed to provide reliable and consistent performance, there may be instances where a device's performance could benefit from a periodic restart. Scheduled Restarts are particularly useful in scenarios where:

  • You suspect a hardware issue affecting device performance.
  • The device's operating system exhibits signs of degradation over time.
