How to Set Up TelemetryTV on MacOS
Follow the steps below to setup these devices with TelemetryTV:
1. Download the TelemetryTV Media Player App to Your Device
Use this link to download the Electron App for MacOS.
2. Pair the Device to Your TelemetryTV Account
Open the TelemetryTV Media Player App. A pairing code will appear. On the TelemetryTV web app, navigate to the "Devices" page, click the "Pair" button, and type in the pairing code.
3. Set TelemetryTV to Auto-Launch upon Restart
Open System Preferences and select Users & Groups. Click Login Items. In the bottom left, click the lock icon and enter your admin password. Click the '+' sign and find the TelemetryTV Media Player in the /Applications folder. Once selected, click the 'Add' button.
MacOS Keyboard Shortcuts
With a keyboard attached to your Mac Mini, you can use the following shortcuts:
- Stop/Start playlist -
space bar
- Previous page -
P
- Next page -
N
- Exit / enter full screen -
CMD+F
Volume Control
You can change the volume of your playlist by clicking the speaker icon in the Devices tab of the TelemetryTV interface.
Provisioning on MacOS
You can provision the Telemetry Player App using the Terminal on MacOS. By employing an Apple Script, you can create an easily reusable tool to make your provisioning process highly scalable and streamlined.
- Open up the Terminal program (Applications > Utilities > Terminal)
- Run the following command with your Provisioning Token inserted at the end (replacing abc123abc123abc123abc123)
open -b com.telemetrytv --args -kioskmode --provision=abc123abc123abc123abc123
